About Me
A licensed counselor with ten years of therapeutic experience, I received my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University. I am currently licensed in both Texas (LPC #83789) and Massachusetts (LMHC #9416).
Prior to starting my private practice I provided specialized treatment as an individual and group therapist at an eating disorder center in Cambridge, MA. For the last four years I served as an individual therapist and Team Lead in the VA Healthcare System where I delivered mental health and integrative health treatment.
My Treatment Approach
While the process of therapy can be challenging, our sessions together are designed to feel safe, caring, and even playful at times. I like to build a non-judgmental and compassionate space, so that you can bring any topic into our sessions. I fully believe that warmth, trust, and humor are vital components of any therapy experience.
My treatment approach integrates person-centered and relational therapy with evidence based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which is a treatment designed to process past trauma and reduce symptoms of PTSD.
